What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and IV antibiotics
- Monitor and manage oncologic emergencies and cytokine release syndromes
- Perform insulin and heparin drips with safety and precision
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
- Maintain accurate electronic charting using EPIC or comparable systems
What You Need
Required:
- Valid Ohio RN license with at least 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
Preferred:
- Oncology-specific certifications (e.g., ONS Chemo)
- Experience with complex oncology procedures and patient care protocols
About the Assignment
This is a fast-paced, hybrid acuity unit caring for surgical oncology and hepatobiliary patients, among others. The unit handles patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses, including breast, thyroid, melanoma, liver, colon, and rectal cancers, as well as reconstructive surgeries. The role involves managing complex treatments such as chemotherapy, blood products, and emergency interventions, all within a supportive team environment committed to quality patient care.
