What You’ll Do
- Provide advanced care for adult ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, and neuro cases
- Manage ventilators, assist with intubation and extubation
- Monitor and manage IV lines, vasoactive drips, and central lines
- Administer medications and perform patient assessments in a high-acuity setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, PICC team, and hospitalists
- Support patient care through procedures such as tube feedings, foley management, and neuro monitoring
- Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining patient safety and quality
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or willingness to obtain
- 2+ years ICU experience, including ventilator support and stroke care
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Strong skills in ventilator management, IV titration, and critical patient care
Preferred:
- Post-CABG experience, open-heart procedures knowledge
- Experience with open-heart patient management
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
