What You’ll Do
- Assist pathologists in grossing and histological processing of specimens, primarily benign lesions (95%) and some cancer resections
- Work in the Doan lab handling specimens from the University Hospital OR, including native livers and colon cancer resections
- Select tissue specimens for karyotyping and biopsy procedures, supporting research and diagnostic workflows
- Prepare and document tissue samples for pathology review and further testing
- Support procurement activities and maintain specimen integrity under supervision
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing and accurate reporting
What You Need
Required:
- Certified Pathologists Assistant (PA) (ASCP)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting
Preferred:
- Experience working with benign and malignant tissue specimens
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced lab environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
