Description Neurosurgery NP Locums Job in California | 10 Hour Shifts, 4 Days/Week | Beginning ASAP - Ongoing | Assignment #116722 Coverage Details -- Beginning ASAP once credentialed, ongoing coverage -- Inpatient and outpatient setting Shift Description -- 10-hour day shifts -- 4 days per week -- No weekend coverage required -- Day off will vary based on operational needs Requirements -- APA-accredited Physician Assistant program or ACNP equivalent -- Current AAPA National Board Certification -- California DEA certification -- California licensed candidates preferred -- Cerner experience and strong computer skills required Procedures Required -- Being familiar with ICU neurosurgery care, including managing EVDs and surgical drains, ICP monitors, lumbar drains, minor bedside procedures, and general critical care neurological concepts will be beneficial. -- Preferable 2 years of neurosurgical PA/NP experience in both clinic and inpatient setting recommended, although all applicants invited to ply. On the job training will be provided. Assignment Details -- Heavy emphasis on spine care -- Hospital rounds in the ICU and surgical unit -- Daily note writing, surgical assisting, discharges, inpatient consults, and care coordination -- Clinical volume: 15-20 patients per shift -- Surgical volume: 2-3 cases per day -- Inpatient census typically under 20 patients -- Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients -- Support staff includes Medical Assistant -- Team consists of 3 neurosurgeons, additional on-call neurosurgeons for backfill coverage, and 2 Physician Assistants * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
