What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in a stepdown and med-surg setting
- Monitor patients with telemetry, including cardiac monitoring and strip printing
- Manage complex patient needs such as CVA, TIA, spinal surgeries, and overflow unit cases
- Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required if experienced)
- Support procedures including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and lumbar drains (preferred)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, PT, OT, and ST
- Complete charting accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
What You Need:
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible jurisdiction
- 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Preferred:
- Experience with titratable medications, chest tubes, trachs, and lumbar drains
- Strong telemetry skills and familiarity with cardiac monitors

The unit is traveler-friendly, with a focus on team support and patient-centered care. The RN will work a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend, with mandatory night shifts and holiday coverage.
