Job Description 

CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline and CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic (CTC) in Corpus Christi, TX, are seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our expanding team. CTC-Thomas Spann is a multi-specialty provider serving the Corpus Christi, Alice, Beeville, and Kingsville communities. The group consists of a network of 75+ primary care providers and 65+ specialty providers across a range of subspecialties including cardiology, neurosurgery, general surgery, colorectal surgery, gastroenterology and more. We are seeking a candidate to help build our integrated delivery network for cardiovascular surgery and ensure our 550+ heart patients continue to receive care in the Coastal Bend. Additional program development opportunities in robotic lung and structural heart pending candidate areas of interest. Join a robust, Chest Pain Accredited cardiovascular program at the premier tertiary care center for the Coastal Bend.

Position Details

• Specialty: Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery (CV or CT Surgeon)

• Call: 1:2 to start

• Scope: Bread-and-butter CV surgery, structural heart, Watchman, and EP support.

• Growth Opportunity: Opportunity to build and shape the practice from the ground up, including the potential development of a local robotic thoracic program (keeping cases that currently go to San Antonio local).

• Support Team: Cardiac First Assistants (FAs) with an opportunity to transition to a PA/APC model in OR. APC model for support for floor rounding and clinics.

• Referral Base: Extremely strong internal referral network alongside a 600,000 catchment area.

• Facilities: Dedicated CVORs and team, CV ICU, single partnership for ICU, Hospitalist Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline is also a dynamic teaching facility featuring active Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine residency programs, alongside a brand-new multi-million-dollar Hybrid OR at our Shoreline Campus.

Qualifications

• Must possess an unrestricted Texas Medical License or be eligible to be licensed in the State of Texas.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in CV or CT Surgery.
