Registered Nurse - PCU | Shreveport, LA | 12H Night Shifts

What You’ll Do:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a stepdown and med-surg setting, including patients with CVA, TIA, post-surgical spinal cases, and more
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to patient needs
- Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval)
- Manage chest tubes, traches, peritoneal dialysis, lumbar drains, and other specialized procedures (preferred but not required)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, OT, PT, and ST
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Support unit operations as needed, working alongside charge nurses and other staff
What You Need:
Required:
- Active RN license valid in Louisiana
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Preferred:
- Experience with titratable medication management, chest tubes, traches, or dialysis (not mandatory)
- Strong telemetry skills and familiarity with Meditech Expanse
