What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care to telemetry unit patients with various diagnoses including CHF, COPD, and altered mental status
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, support cardiac drips, and support wound care per protocols
- Document patient assessments and treatment plans in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, OT, PT, and speech therapy
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, adhering to hospital and unit standards
- Participate in unit float coverage and respond to call needs
- Support charge nurse with patient assignments and unit responsibilities
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- 1+ year experience in acute care or telemetry
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
Preferred:
- Previous telemetry or step-down experience
- Experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes
- Flexibility to float to other units if needed
