What You’ll Do:
- Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to identify normal and abnormal components.
- Analyze blood cells using microscopy to identify and count cell types.
- Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions, including blood typing and compatibility testing.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment like analyzers, spectrophotometers, and flame photometers.
- Maintain laboratory supplies inventory, reorder stocks, and ensure proper usage of resources.
- Generate reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing test results.
- Follow quality assurance and safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Stay current with professional developments through workshops and publications.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all laboratory standards and regulations.
- Perform additional duties related to laboratory testing as needed.
What You Need:
- Required: Certification/license as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency with lab equipment, good communication skills
