What You’ll Do
- Decontaminate surgical instruments, scopes, drills, and Da Vinci equipment
- Assemble all instruments in various service lines including trauma, loaners, and peel packings
- Operate sterilization processes including sterilization (Sterrad and steam)
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) of scopes
- Manage sterile storage and inventory tracking
- Serve as an OR liaison, ensuring timely and sterile instrument availability
- Utilize the Censitrac tracking system for traceability and documentation
What You Need
Required:
- Valid certification: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA)
- 3+ years of sterile processing experience in a surgical or trauma setting
- Experience with sterilization, HLD, scope processing, and instrument assembly
Preferred:
- Experience with Censitrac or similar tracking systems
- Knowledge of OR operations and interdepartmental communication
About the Assignment
This position is based at a high-volume, Level One trauma facility in Columbus, Ohio. The Sterile Processing department is critical to surgical success, handling all aspects of instrument decontamination, sterilization, and supply management. This role supports a busy surgical services team, ensuring operating rooms are stocked with sterile, ready-to-use instruments for essential procedures.
