Step Down Registered Nurse – PCU, Nights – Columbus, OH

What You’ll Do:


  • Provide high-quality step-down nursing care to patients on the PCU

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias accurately

  • Administer IV insulin protocols and manage insulin drips

  • Support patients with active oncology diagnoses, post-surgical, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, and other complex conditions

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions

  • Float within OSU as required and participate in weekend/night rotations



What You Need:


  • Active Ohio RN license

  • BLS and ACLS certification

  • Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience

  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and insulin management

  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills



About the Assignment:

You will work in a specialized cardiac step-down unit that is part of a corrections facility operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. The unit is locked and requires access via corrections officers, offering a unique environment with dedicated safety protocols. The facility supports patients undergoing oncology treatments, surgical recoveries, and those with complex cardiac conditions.
