What You’ll Do:
- Support cardiothoracic surgery team, including surgeons and RNs
- Perform endoscopic saphenous vein and radial artery harvests
- Place and remove chest tubes, central and arterial lines
- Intubate and extubate patients; assist with robotic lung procedures (if experienced)
- Document patient progress and surgical procedures accurately
- Assist with preoperative assessments and postoperative care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
What You Need:
Required:
- Active Wisconsin NP or PA license
- Board certification in respective specialty
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- 1-2 years experience in cardiothoracic surgery, first-assist role essential
- DEA registration
Preferred:
- Experience with robotic lung procedures
- Credentialing/privileging readiness within 60 days
About the Assignment:
This cardiovascular surgical unit at a leading Wisconsin facility performs a variety of complex procedures including vein and artery harvests, chest tube placements, and invasive line work with a focus on adult patients. Robotic lung experience is a plus but not mandatory. The team is committed to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
