Dates: December–June, potential to extend
Schedule: 1–2 seven-day blocks per month, Monday 8:00 AM to the following Monday 8:00 AM
Setting: Standalone cancer center, 60+ beds (expanding to 73), 8-bed ICU, Epic
Support: ICU, hospitalist, and surgical teams on site

Daily structure:
Clinic 8:00 AM–12:00 PM — ~10 patients
One stress test at noon
Inpatient consults in the afternoon — ~3 new, ~5 follow-ups
Night call; pager coverage Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM

Scope:
Routine consults within 24 hours (routine consults after 5:00 PM Sunday deferred to staff)
Follow-up of existing inpatients with sign-out from the permanent team
STAT EKG reads only
Urgent weekend echo reads (PE, troponin elevation, shock, effusion)
Coordinate transfers for cath/EP lab cases (STEMI, refractory arrhythmias, tamponade)
Emergent pericardiocentesis for unstable tamponade

Requirements:
Board certified in cardiology
Active California license and DEA
Clean NPDB
Available for at least one full seven-day block per month — no weekends-only or partial weeks
Drive-in candidates only
