Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota

An opportunity is available for a qualified Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric coverage in North Dakota. This position offers a recurring 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule, with coverage needed from November 2026 through July 2027.

The physician will provide inpatient psychiatric care, emergency department evaluations, and general hospital consultations for patients across a broad range of ages and psychiatric diagnoses.

• Call: Typically 1–2 nights per 7-day coverage block

• Orientation: November 11, 2026

    

• Anticipated Start: November 12, 2026, pending credentialing

    

• Provide psychiatric care on a 24-bed inpatient unit

    

• Manage adult psychiatric patients

    

• Provide coverage for a 6-bed adolescent inpatient unit

    

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the emergency department

    

• Provide psychiatric consultations for patients throughout the general hospital

    

• Evaluate patients of all ages and psychiatric diagnoses in emergency and consultation settings

    

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment and discharge planning

    

• Psychiatrist with experience in inpatient psychiatric care

    

• Board certification requirements to be confirmed

    

• Experience treating adult and adolescent populations

    

• Willingness to evaluate patients of all ages in the emergency department and general hospital consultation settings

    

• EPIC EMR experience

    

• Ability to work collaboratively with another psychiatrist on an alternating 7-on/7-off schedule

    

• Availability to complete orientation before starting coverage

    

• Typically 1–2 APPs, although coverage may vary

    

• Social work and discharge planning support

    

• Intake team

    

• Other psychiatrist providing alternating coverage

    

• Inpatient psychiatric unit located adjacent to the general hospital

    

• Telemedicine may be used for general hospital consultations when appropriate
