Neurohospitalist Locums Job in California | Seven Consecutive 24-Hour Shifts | Beginning January 1, 2027 - Ongoing | Assignment #117565

Coverage Details
-- Coverage begins January 1, 2027, with approximately 4-12 months of coverage anticipated

Shift Details
-- Seven consecutive 24-hour shifts from Friday at 6pm through the following Friday at 6pm
-- Onsite coverage 8am-4pm with after-hours response time of less than 20 minutes for acute stroke coverage
-- Regular schedule of one seven-day stretch per month

Requirements
-- Active CA license
-- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
-- Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
-- Experience providing Neurohospitalist coverage in a certified Primary or Comprehensive Stroke Center
-- Experience evaluating and managing acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and other neurologic emergencies

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Experience with thrombolytic therapy, endovascular thrombectomy evaluation, and making transfer decisions for higher-level neurovascular care
-- Cerner experience and strong computer skills

Assignment Details
-- Average daily census: 6
-- Average daily new consults: 2
-- Average daily stroke activations: 1
-- Trauma Level II hospital
-- Round on neurology consults
-- Respond in person to stroke activations and new ER and hospitalist consults
-- Attend quarterly stroke committee meetings
-- Answer transfer calls from the Regional Transfer Center
-- Stroke coordinator support available
-- Community-based hospital environment with strong specialty support and a collaborative culture
