Description Standard Qualifications: Putnam Community Medical Center is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse Charge (RN) to join a dynamic team and top notch facility! A 99-bed, acute care facility, located at 611 Zeagler Drive, in Palatka, provides the latest technology with the assurance of highly trained, caring professionals to the residents of Putnam County. The hospital serves North Central Florida with a full complement of quality healthcare services while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The hospital provides individualized care directed to the specific needs of each patient. Putnam Community Medical Center offers an Intensive/Critical Care Unit, Step-Down Care Unit, Cardiac Cath Lab, medical and surgical units, family birthplace center, and a 24-hour emergency department. We also provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. POSITION SUMMARY: The department charge nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable to their nursing manager/director for clinical and operational functioning of the unit. The charge nurse assumes responsibility of managing the units clinical and operational functioning in the absence of their unit manager and/or director. SIGNIFICANT RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates patient care assignments in the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability Models and enforces behaviors that enhance the patient experience including hourly rounding, bedside shift report and timely admissions/discharges/transfers Serves as a clinical resource for staff during changes in patient condition and other clinical concerns and facilitates appropriate response teams and alerts including rapid response, code blue, STP alerts, STEMI alerts and Sepsis alerts as indicated Critical Care and Emergency Departments only - Serves as a clinical resource in response to Rapid Response Calls, Code Blue, STP alerts, STEMI alerts and Sepsis alerts to areas indicated * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
