Description Standard Qualifications: West Florida Healthcare is proud to offer all private rooms to our patients. West Florida Healthcare offers major services in cardiology/cardiovascular surgery, oncology, neurology/neurosurgery, orthopedics, emergency care, behavioral health, obstetrics, rehabilitative medicine and many other medical specialties. POSITION SUMMARY: Ensures appropriate utilization of resources, facilities, and services by the review of admission, continued stay, and professional services rendered. Identifies patient discharge needs and works in collaboration with nurses and physicians in managing the patients care needs along the continuum. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Determines the medical necessities of all admissions and the needs for continued stays. Identifies the provision of inappropriate or untimely services. Assesses discharge planning needs for patients of all ages and coordinates the delivery of services to meet those needs. Facilitates timely and appropriate discharges from the hospital. Identifies opportunities for improvements in patient care.
