Description Standard Qualifications: MEDICAL CITY DALLAS HOSPITAL JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Diabetic/Endocrine Unit REPORTS TO: Manager RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUPERVISION: Diabetic/Endocrine Unit Staff JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership for service staff ensuring the quality and integrity of care delivered. Develops plan of care for service line based upon RN assessment /re-assessment. Is responsible for fiscal and human resource allocation based upon guidelines. Instrumental in outcome based goals that incorporate empirical research. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred. If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. General Medical/Surgical experience required. Experience with Diabetic patients preferred. Management experience required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license Current American Heart Association BLS provider. Current American Heart Association ACLS within one year of hire. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must have expertise in the specific specialty providing leadership / management. Must have working knowledge of overall general surgery service in order to have organizational value. SPECIAL DEMANDS: None WORK ENVIRONMENT: Approximately 100% inside work.
