GENERAL SUMMARY The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and coordination of clinical operations for Cath Lab, EKG/Echo, Vascular/ EEG and Heart Rhythm Center (HRC) departments in accordance with organizational and departmental philosophy and goals. This position will assist the Director in maintaining the highest degree of clinical and operational performance. Responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to patients. The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate across all departments to prioritize care of patients. Promote Service Line operations and development; act as a liaison with staff and physicians to address performance issues, training concerns and improvement of processes. Assist in planning and implementation of adequate assignments, resource to staff, participates closely in the stakeholder satisfaction (patients, staff and physician), the assessment process, performance improvement, outcomes management assessment, performance improvement process and update and evaluate policy. Ability to research current treatment methodologies and literature for evidence based practice QUALIFICATIONS Two (2) years of full time experience in CV setting Analytical skills necessary in order to handle non-routine, moderately complex administrative details. Computer literate with in-depth knowledge, experience to operate word processing, data bases, graphics, and spreadsheets in order to generate reports. Ability to learn and operate Meditech, Excel, Word, and patient care management systems. Superior communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively and positively with people. Ability to show understanding, patience, and tact when dealing with physicians, staff, and the public. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language. Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, follow instructions and maintain a high level of professional conduct. Ability to read and write in order to proof and edit non-routine correspondence, tables, forms and the like for punctuation, spelling, grammar and typographical errors and draft correspondence, perform arithmetic calculations, and maintain record keeping and filing. Perform moderately complex administrative duties such as coordinating meetings and conferences, complex computer and database management skills, and interacting system-wide with callers, patients, and the public. EDUCATION: B.A. / B.S. required Must be licensed as a current California RN Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Current NIH Stroke Scale Certification
