Job Title: Critical Care Nurse Educator Department: ICU Position Summary: Coordinates the organization's leader and staff development program to advance the hospital's operational and strategic goals within the Adult and Critical Care Areas. Essential Functions: • Works collaboratively with Housewide Education Coordinator (HEC) and Adult and Critical Care department leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding, training and continuing education plan that includes classroom, online and in unit learning as appropriate • In collaboration with the HEC, participates in house wide and clinical orientation for all new employees and assists with executing the plan for staff competency to meet state and national regulations and standards (i.e. Joint Commission, CMS and other relevant compliance and quality standards) • In collaboration with HEC, Quality staff and department leaders and in consultation with staff RNs, contributes to learning needs assessment and develops the plans to address needs and best practices • With HEC and HRVP implements RN retention and recruitment plans • Makes recommendations for the annual education and training budget; ensures that training time and resources are utilized in a cost effective manner • Assists HEC with HealthStream Learning Center and PolicyStat • Participates in hospital committees, unit based council and performance improvement efforts that enhance patient education, staff competency, quality and safety • Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction • Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement for quality, safety and patient experience • Attendance, works as scheduled
