ASST. DIRECTOR'S, IMAGING SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1 Initiates intradepartmental problem solving and communication. Primarily responsible for assisting modality supervisors, safety and physical plant management, and staff concerns on a day-to-day basis. 2 Directs the coordination of patient flow through the department. Monitors and assists the Supervisors in reducing patient wait times. Responds to physician and patient concerns and makes suggestions for improving process issues. Cooperate with and provide communication to Central Scheduling. 3 Provide leadership and guidance to staff. Responsible for orientation and training of radiology staff. Oversee and participate in the preparation of staff and supervisor's performance management plan. 4 Maintain appropriate staffing levels to coincide with patient volume and budgeted man-hour per stat. Manage all aspects of staff scheduling to include adequate coverage for daily, weekly, monthly, weekend and call rotations. Serves as back-up for preparation of departmental payroll via Kronos. 5 Directs the annual inventory of personal protective lead apparel. Works closely with Director and Radiation Safety Officer to ensure staff compliance and awareness of ALARA program along with current and applicable NRC regulations. 6 Assists in the preparation of justifications for equipment proposals, staff education and special projects. 7 Assist supervisors in maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Order supplies as needed. 8 Assist FSA in establishment and implementation of policies and procedures with regards to PACS. 9 Reviews and develops Radiology Department job descriptions, expectations, employee competencies and other training documents. Works closely with Director and area supervisors to complete initial competency assessment of staff. 10 Assists in maintenance of up-to-date effectual departmental Policy and Procedures notebooks. 11 Actively involved in special projects as requested by Director. 12 Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure. 13 Completes and maintains educational requirements.
