Lower nurse reports of intentions to leave their positions.  Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator must be resourceful and be able to work under pressure; he/she must be very organized. Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator must have strong communication skills and be able to delegate tasks effectively. He/she must be strong decision maker and be able to keep patient confidentiality. As with all nurses, this position requires workers to be polite and empathetic toward patients.   The Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator may be involved in the hiring of health care nurses and employees. The involvement of the clinical nurse includes selecting candidates who he/she feels are a good fit for FRMC. A Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator may interview nurse candidates and determine whether the candidates will work well with the team of nurses for their specific unit. Once the candidate is hired on as staff, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator has the responsibility of assigning the nurse to the appropriate patient care assignment. Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator evaluates the job performance of nursing staff. A Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator evaluates staff by reviewing an employee's performance of completed work assignments and work techniques. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator gives the staff suggestions on improving their work performance. This portion of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator job description is important since the Director wants to ensure needs of the patients and the patient's family members are met. Evaluating employees effectively will help to improve the overall clinical, operational and financial performance of the hospital. Clinical Nurse Supervisor/Coordinator works in conjunction with the director's department vision.  The role of the Clinical Nurse Coordinator/supervisor is to supervise the staff and assume responsibility for the environment of the unit and the care provided in the Inpatient Critical Care Services Intensive and Progressive Care Units. This supervision includes but is not limited to clinical skills, disciplinary counseling, evaluations, Kronos, scheduling, Smart, GHX, Meditech, Productivity, Budget, eMar and Plus. The Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor directs patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Frankfort Regional Medical Center and professional organizations and in support of the mission of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Care is provided in a patient and family-centered environment.
