Clear Lake Regional Medical Center is looking for a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - CV Progressive Care Unit (CV PCU). PRN The 36-bed bed unit is a 24-hour provider of acute, medical care services to adult and geriatric populations with a wide variety of diagnoses including but not limited to, stroke, pneumonia, COPD. This unit also services as a telemetry overflow. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs patient care functions in compliance with hospital policies and procedures: Assists patients with activities of daily living. Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Assists in admitting, transferring, and discharging of patients. Assists with management of supplies and equipment. Assists with keeping patients on the Intermediate Unit safe by applying bed check, low bed position and yellow 'star' sign on patient door, as well as immediate response to any and all bed alarms and call bells. Keeps licensed nurse informed of patient activities/changes in condition. Routinely performs venipunctures for laboratory specimens as well as blood sugar checks, followed by documentation in Meditech. Responds in a customer friendly atmosphere. Answers call lights and refers to licensed nurse, as needed, including hourly rounding and documentation of via initials. Responsible for physical appearance of the nursing unit including POU, Storage area, and lounge. Functions as a personal caregiver and sitter as assigned. Responsible for assisting vital signs and recording results in Meditech as delegated. Responsible for assisting with intake and output on all patients. Answers telephones in friendly and professional manner. Responsible to have Spectra Link telephone activated and physically on person, including documentation of telephone number in assignment book. Responsible for ensuring that Through Put Plan is followed by discharging patients immediately upon request. Ensures correct diets are served and patients assisted with feeding, if needed. Responsible for weighing all patients and its documentation. Ensures that all Isolation procedures and precautions are properly adhered to. Ensures that patient information is kept confidential. Ensures that patient report is given to next care provider and that hand off rounding is done at change of shift with next provider. * Some information such as the email and phone number are hidden unless you are registered and logged-in
