Description
Summary: The incumbent shall care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients; administer prescribed medications; provide basic patient care or treatments; measure and record patients' vital signs; supervise nurses' aides or assistants. Essential Duties: Participates in continuing education/professional development activities. Communicates and demonstrates a professional image/attitude at all times. Adheres to all applicable policies/procedures and practice guidelines. Supports Student Program within the facility. Contributes to client relations and marketing activities. Maintains licenses/certifications and memberships in applicable professional organizations. Completes Self-Assessment upon request and develops professional goals. Provides clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions. Documents patient/resident/client care and response to treatment and provides feedback to supervising therapist, as indicated. Communicates changes in patient/resident/client status to the supervising therapist. Provides patient/resident/client and family/caregiver education and training that assist's with continued functional independence. Supervision of OTA students, and rehab techs, in accordance with the most stringent of either state or payer guidelines. Coordinates treatment with other disciplines. Participates in scheduled meetings, as requested and approved by supervisor. Functions as a resource for and provides employees with approved in-service/cross-training on occupational therapy knowledge and skill areas. Contributes to development of improved efficiency and productivity of clinical/administrative functions. Participates in survey preparation activities. Contributes to the delivery of cost effective care. Documentation reflects skilled service delivery and medical necessity. Mission: The mission is to provide the highest quality of skilled rehabilitation services. Qualifications: Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/transfer patients and equipment. Frequent and prolonged bending, stooping, crouching, walking, and standing. Ability to communicate.
