- Hospital CT Surgery Coverage one weekend per month and/or occasional vacation coverage.
- Clinical Details
- Rounding with PA in a.m. and perform any necessary procedures that may come throughout the day.
- Physician assistant takes the calls and the surgeon is only contacted if there is an emergent issue
- Level III trauma
- Consults are taken by PA and then discussed via phone with Physician to determine next steps.
- Typical Cases seen: Open Heart
- What other facilities are available onsite: Neurosurgery/Neurology; Pulmonary/Critical Care; Nephrology; Cardiology; OB/GYN; ID
- APP/Mid-level coverage is available
- APP/Mid-level shifts times 7a-7a
- AVG Cases per Day: 1-3
- AVG cases per year - 133
- Patient Mix: 100% Adults
- Requirements
- Providers who need to obtain a Maryland License, will be considered
- Providers must have/be willing to obtain Maryland CDS (Controlled and Dangerous Substance)
- Maryland DEA
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in cardiac or both cardiac and thoracic
- Required Procedures: Bypass Surgery
- 2-years minimum experience
- Call
- 30 min response time
- Average admission while on call: 1-3
- Onsite not needed after rounding - 30 min response time
- EMR
