Key Responsibilities:
- Lead patient care utilizing the nursing process within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and hospital policies
- Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members
- Ensure quality patient outcomes and demonstrate accountability for care standards
- Exhibit cultural, ethnic, and religious sensitivity in all interactions
- Maintain involvement in departmental and organizational strategic initiatives
- Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including current certifications and licensure
- Promote a collaborative environment and effectively communicate with interdisciplinary teams
- Stay current on federal, state, and local laws impacting nursing practice
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in computer systems, software, and web-based applications
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in healthcare
Nice to Have Skills:
- Certification in a clinical specialty area
- Experience in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual communication skills
Preferred Educational Background and Experience:
- Diploma in nursing (required), Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
- At least 2 years of direct clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work the 12:00 AM – 12:00 AM shift
- Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Compliance with all OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols
- Willingness to work in environments with exposure to blood, body fluids, and potentially communicable diseases
