What You’ll Do
- Manage routine labor and delivery, including vaginal births and C-sections
- Support postpartum rounding and emergency gynecologic consults
- Collaborate with support staff, including CNMs, to deliver quality care
- Document patient care using EPIC EMR system
- Provide emergency gynecologic services as needed with limited high-risk obstetrics
- Support approximately 120 births per year at a rural community hospital
What You Need
Required
- MD/DO with Board Certification in OB/GYN
- Wisconsin License (IMLC accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
- DEA license and at least 1-2 years of experience
Preferred
- Willingness to float to various sites including Janesville, Madison, and nearby clinics
- Skilled in labor management, cesarean delivery, and postpartum care
About the Assignment
This position supports a hospital-based OB-GYN department primarily focused on labor and delivery with approximately 120 births annually. The role involves providing excellent patient care in a rural hospital setting, handling routine deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum follow-up, with no high-risk obstetrics or resident involvement. The schedule includes alternating weekdays and weekends, with shifts spanning 0700 to 0700, on a month-to-month basis, starting December 2026 through March 2027. Credentialing takes approximately 60 days, with billable travel expenses including airfare, lodging, and rental or mileage for personal vehicles.
